We want every visit to feel safe, calm and happy for your pup, for the other dogs in our care, and for our groomers and equipment. These gentle guidelines help us keep it that way. Thank you for helping us look after everyone!

A note for new friends

We see dogs by appointment only, so we're not able to welcome walk-ins. Please wait to bring your dog in until the visit is confirmed.
Every dog who visits needs current vaccinations and flea medication. It keeps all of our furry guests healthy.
All new dogs complete a meet-and-greet before grooming, for the safety of pets, groomers and equipment. It's a chance for us to say hello and for your pup to sniff us out, too.
Senior dogs and dogs with medical conditions may need a medical release, so we can care for them as thoughtfully as they deserve.
We are not able to accept Nordic breeds, and we are not accepting dogs with behavioral issues as new clients at this time. We're grateful for your understanding.
For our wonderful mixed breeds: we reserve the right to determine the appropriate service category for mixed-breed dogs based on coat type and weight.

The details: every dog needs current veterinarian-administered vaccinations for rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella, current flea medication, and no fleas. The request form asks for the record, as a photo or PDF, and for those two confirmations.

A kind word about mats: The Grooming Garage does not de-mat. De-matting is painful and damages the skin. Matted dogs are priced by time and severity and need a signed release.

Step 1

Pick a pampering

Find your pup's service on the menu. Baths run about an hour and grooms about two. Doodles, Poodles, and our gentle giants usually need a little longer to look this good.

Step 2

Request a weekday

Monday through Friday, 9:00 to 4:00. Current clients ask for a date that still has room, and Dawnya sets the time.

Step 3

Send the paperwork

Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella records, current flea medication, and no fleas. No record, no request (we promise it's worth the tail-wag).

Services

Mixed breeds: We reserve the right to determine the appropriate service category for mixed-breed dogs based on coat type and weight.

A bath is usually about an hour. A groom is usually about two hours. Doodles, Poodles, and giant breeds usually take two hours or more. A weekday is open when the day still has a long enough stretch for the service you choose.

Prices already include the shop's increase, and items marked “from” are starting prices. Open a heading to sniff out your pup's group.

Our story

From a home garage to The Grooming Garage

Dawnya Davis established The Grooming Garage in 2014. She opened it inside her own home, right in her garage, and proudly named it The Grooming Garage.

In 2021, the business outgrew its cozy beginnings and relocated to a larger establishment. With the move came groomer Dodie Otoupalik, who joined the team from her own home-based grooming business in Ocean Park. Dodie has been grooming for nearly 30 years.

Our newest addition is Apprentice Shasta, who currently takes bath, nail and shave-down clients. She has been working on establishing her trade for nearly two years, and before that she was our in-house bather for several years.

All three are AKC certified groomers who continue their education every year through seminars, testing and rigorous class schedules that include CPR, first aid and safety, as well as the aesthetic creativity of dog grooming.
